At this year’s VDI Dritev conference in Baden-Baden, Germany, Dr.-Ing Isabelle Ays – Liebherr Mining’s head of zero emissions – gave a presentation about the OEM’s decarbonisation journey. We spoke with Isabelle about key insights from her presentation and what they mean for the future of zero emission mining.

steinexpo 2026: Liebherr showcases its expertise in machinery and digital innovations for the extraction industry

At steinexpo 2026 from 2 to 5 September 2026, Liebherr will be showcasing eight exhibits from its earthmoving, mining and components product ranges. A world first will be unveiled at stand A27, which covers an exhibition space of around 1,000 m². Also on display are a dump truck, two XPower wheel loaders, two Generation 8 crawler dozers, a grid-connected electric mining excavator, a telescopic handler and a mobile energy storage system.

Liebherr-Australia delivers first R 9600 to Northern Star Resources at the Super Pit in Western Australia

Earlier this month, Northern Star Resources took delivery of its first ultra-class Liebherr excavator, a 600-tonne R 9600, at the Super Pit in Western Australia. The new machine joins 17 Liebherr machines already operating across Northern Star Resources’ operations. A second R 9600 is expected at the Super Pit in October.

First Liebherr excavators delivered to Gold Fields in Western Australia

Liebherr-Australia marked the beginning of its new partnership with Gold Fields in Australia with the delivery three new excavators. An R 9600 and an R 9400 excavator were delivered to Gruyere Gold Mine in May and a second R 9600 joined the fleet a month later.

Creating opportunities in the skilled trades in Canada

In March this year, Liebherr-Canada welcomed a group of 20 women into its Acheson branch to get a closer look at the skilled trades careers they’d been training for with Women Building Futures.

Liebherr presents new dragline machine: LMD 1200

With the LMD 1200, Liebherr is launching a machine specially developed for the extraction of raw materials in demanding mining applications. A variable boom system for dragline operation, easy relocation within the mine and the robust steel construction ensure flexibility and reliability – even in extreme conditions and with high utilisation.

MACA welcomes its first Liebherr dozers into its mining fleet

In late May, Liebherr-Australia delivered three new PR 776 G8 dozers to mining services provider MACA, a Thiess company, at the Duketon Gold Project, which is operated by Regis Resources. These are the first Liebherr dozers to join MACA’s mining fleet. Liebherr-Australia will also deliver two R 9300 excavators to MACA later this year.

A milestone year for ESG at Liebherr China

2025 was a big year for Liebherr China and its ESG (environmental, social and governance) efforts. R 9350 E electric excavator delivered to Assarel copper mine

In late March, Assarel-Medet took delivery of a R 9350 E electric excavator at Assarel copper mine in Bulgaria’s Pazardzhik province. This is the fifth 300-tonne class Liebherr electric excavator that Liebherr-Export and Alki-L have delivered to the copper mining company.

The Liebherr Group closed the year 2025 with a turnover of € 14,772 million.

Liebherr mantiene una evolución estable en el ejercicio 2025

El Grupo Liebherr terminó el año 2025 con una cifra de negocios de 14.772 millones de euros. En comparación con el ejercicio anterior, supone un incremento de la facturación en 150 millones de euros o del 1,0 %. Con 1.059 millones de euros, el grupo de empresas siguió invirtiendo al mismo alto nivel que en los dos años anteriores.

Liebherr lanza al mercado la nueva excavadora de minería R 9100 Generación 8

Liebherr Mining ha presentado la R 9100 Generation 8 (G8), la última incorporación a su gama de excavadoras de minería de la clase de 100 toneladas. Tras el éxito de la validación de campo de la pre-serie en Indonesia, la R 9100 G8 ya está a la venta y sustituirá la R 9100 Generación 6 (G6) una vez que comience la producción en serie en el segundo trimestre de 2026.

Liebherr pone en servicio buldócers PR 776 G8 con sistema de teleoperación LiReCon para SQM en Chile

En diciembre de 2025, Liebherr Chile entregó dos buldócers PR 776 G8 y dos palas cargadoras L 586 XPower a SQM en la mina Nueva Victoria, en la región de Tarapacá, en el norte de Chile. Esta entrega marca la primera vez que el buldócer minero insignia de 70 toneladas de Liebherr se suministra a un cliente equipado con el sistema de teleoperación LiReCon.
