The PHS Allround gets its name from its unique capability of installing machine tools, setup stations, pallet storage locations or other devices on all sides: in other words, “all round”. This allows us to adapt the system layout optimally to your needs and space capacity.
The PHS Allround from Liebherr grows with its demands. Many customers use the option of flexibly scaling their system when their production demands increase. This enables additional setup stations, machine tools and pallet storage locations to be planned, so you can produce even more and with greater flexibility.
When developing the product, it was ensured that the system would also be suitable for low hall heights. Nevertheless, it offers numerous pallet storage locations and enables unmanned manufacturing over a long period.
A special motion sequence of the lift module combines turning and telescoping. This saves both space and time and provides a particular advantage: front access.
Some machines are very challenging to load – for example, machine tools with swivel rotary tables. Thanks to intelligent technological concepts, we can also automate these “problem cases” – even with front access. The advantage: Liebherr automation works regardless of the machine supplier and can also combine different machines in one system.
Our optional front access enables you to access individual machine tools at any time by decoupling them from Automatic Mode. The special feature is that neither the pallet handling nor the other machines are affected by this and can continue production without restriction. This allows us to maximize productivity even during manual activities or maintenance work.
With a double loader from Liebherr, your machine tools will become even more productive. In one motion sequence, a completely machined workpiece pallet is removed and new parts are fed into the machine. Because our double loader is so fast, you could even do without a pallet changing system to cut costs. Or you could combine machines with different pallet sizes in one system and make your flexible manufacturing system even more adaptable.
Liebherr can do more than just workpiece handling: our Tool Handling System (THS) also automates tool management. Tools are managed in a central storage location and automatically distributed to the machines. With tool magazines on the floor (FSR) or above the machine column (TSR), the system offers two possibilities for improving your resource management and increases the productivity of your machine tools.
Because space is always scarce in manufacturing and has to be optimally used, we have developed the rotary storage tower. This will extend your storage locations by up to 18 pallets while taking up surprisingly little space. It’s ideal for space-savers.
Production that organizes itself? Our software solutions for controlling flexible manufacturing systems make the impossible possible. As a link for all the interfaces, our cell control performs horizontal and vertical integration. Thus, Liebherr supports you throughout the entire value creation chain.
Order management is the core element of cell control. It ensures on-time production and, depending on the manufacturing strategy, just-in-time as well. The possibility of vertically integrating your ERP system enables orders to be generated directly according to your delivery times. The cell control then creates the appropriate working plans, checks the resources and guides the operator through the necessary steps.
After the cell control has terminated orders and subdivided them into task packages, it’s the operator’s turn to set up parts, organize resources and report back the status. The cell control conveniently ensures that nothing has been forgotten and all the deadlines have been met. The setup dialog with indications for workpiece clamping, for example, can be generated directly from the CAM.
Are you not yet satisfied and do you want to enhance the productivity of your flexible manufacturing system even further? The cell control helps you to do so. Statistical evaluations enable conclusions to be drawn about optimization. In the event of malfunctions, you receive immediate information. Alarms are provided in real time in the desired channels, so that you don’t lose a second of your manufacturing capacity.
