Compact RL 650 for Unity Platform

INEOS Forties Pipeline System (FPS) has acquired a new RL 650 for use on the Unity Platform, which is located in the North Sea at a depth of 122 metres. The RL 650 will replace an old RL crane that has been in use for over 30 years. The ram luffing crane, with a capacity to lift 15 tonnes and an outreach of 30 metres, will fulfil all material handling needs for the offshore platform. Owing to its streamlined, compact design, the offshore crane is particularly well-suited for a Not Permanently Attended Installation (NPAI), such as the Unity Platform.

A leap in logistical solutions

The arrival of the LHM 800 at Marcor Hartel Terminal marks a significant advancement in our logistical solutions. Boasting zero local emissions and a quieter operation, the crane is set to handle essential commodities, contributing to the global production of energy, steel, and food, while anticipating a throughput goal of 10 million tonnes by 2025.

The LS 800 E takes off for testing

The test phase for the LS 800 E, our all-electric heavy-lift ship crane, is now underway. In February, the first of ten LS 800 E cranes completed production and was carefully positioned on our test bed.

In the upcoming installation of the boom, the crane’s full capabilities will be showcased. The “flexible problem solver” is designed to handle up to 1600 tons in tandem lift, making it a significant addition to the new ORCA fleet operated by SAL Heavy Lift. This electrifying crane represents a leap forward in sustainable maritime lifting technology.

Liebherr Transform STS height increase

Liebherr Transform is currently engaged in its most extensive project yet. At GCT Terminal, four Liebherr ship-to-shore cranes are undergoing a lift height increase of 8.6 meters, employing LCC's patented crane jacking technology. This upgrade, along with boom tip extensions, will significantly expand their operational range, unleashing their potential to accommodate larger vessels.
