On 16 May 2014, Liebherr opened a new training centre at its site in Kirchdorf an der Iller. Apprentices from Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH and Liebherr-Components Kirchdorf GmbH will be trained here in industrial, technical and commercial professions.
Construction began in September 2012 and the work was successfully completed this month. On an area covering 5,700 m², the three-storey training centre will have space for up to 170 apprentices to learn industrial, technical and commercial trades. The training centre has equipment such as high-tech lathes and milling machines, a large welding area, and rooms for training in electronics and control systems as well as CNC programming and simulations. The training centre has spacious training and conference rooms for IT and language courses.
As well as this, the building is characterised by its environmentally friendly and energy-saving building management systems: the energy efficient LED lighting and ventilation system, the combined geothermal/gas heating system and the heated/chilled ceiling with complete heat insulation provide a pleasant indoor atmosphere. Acoustic elements integrated in the building minimise noise.
