E-Mobility Synergies
The Liebherr Group is accelerating the exchange of know-how and information between its multifaceted product divisions. The goal is to promote innovative ideas and cross-industry developments regarding engineering and digital technologies.
In this context, E-Mobility is one of the important themes, which are supported by specialists from the different Liebherr product segments. They are working on concepts of utilising full electric or hybrid electric powertrain technologies to shift vehicles designs away from use of fossil fuels. This includes power electronics, motion control, electrical machines, batteries, fuel cells and associated vehicles architectures.
Liebherr has already introduced some innovative E-Mobility products on the market, such as the first battery-powered drilling rig in the world, the LB 16 unplugged, or the first battery-powered crawler crane in the world, the LR 1250.1 unplugged and there are more new and disruptive E-Mobility products made by Liebherr to come.
In this context, energy storage is of interest. It has to be reliable and safe. The Liduro Energy Storage System LES 300 by Liebherr for high dynamic stationary, mobile and maritime application not only reduces peak power demand of diesel engines, but also allows with its Peak-Shaving function e.g. a size reduction of fuel cell systems at full electrical and high dynamic maritime and aerospace applications.
The Liebherr-Aerospace division benefits from these E-Mobility and Energy Storage technology developments of the Liebherr Group and contributes at the same time its expertise to the different and diversified product segments.
