The LR 11000 from Liebherr packs a punch: higher wind turbines and heavier nacelles

In order to build taller wind turbines with corresponding hub heights and heavier nacelles in the future, the Dutch crane rental company Verschoor decided to acquire a Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane. The company is thus meeting the requirements of wind turbine manufacturers by adding the most powerful crane to date to its fleet. Find out more

RIGA MAINZ replaces old railway bridge with Liebherr crawler crane LR 1750/2

The German Railway has renewed a bridge over the Riß in Biberach. A Liebherr crawler crane LR 1750/2 from the crane and heavy haulage company RIGA MAINZ lifted out the old bridge sections and placed the new bridge in two parts, each weighing 285 tons. These were positioned on completely newly built abutments. Find out more

Delivery record 2023: 2,000th crane from Ehingen goes to MAXIKraft

A new milestone has been achieved: For the first time in history, the Liebherr plant in Ehingen has delivered more than 2,000 cranes in a calendar year. Marked with this magical number, an LTM 1070-4.2 was labelled in early December. It was officially handed over to Maik Kanitzky, owner of the MAXIKraft Group, in front of the eyes of thousands of employees during a company meeting. Find out more

The legend grows: New LG 1800-1.0 in the lattice boom crane portfolio

The legendary Liebherr LG 1750 lattice boom crane has a successor: like its predecessor, the LG 1800-1.0 combines the advantages of a mobile crane with the load capacity of a lattice boom crane. The LG 1750 was previously one of the most powerful cranes of its kind on the market – the new LG 1800-1.0 tops this power and will be launched in the first half of 2024 under the motto “The legend grows”. Fortescue deploys Australia’s first operational electric excavator with the Liebherr R 9400 E

In December 2023, Liebherr-Australia commissioned an R 9400 E 400-tonne electric excavator for Fortescue at their Cloudbreak iron ore mining operation in Western Australia. This excavator represents the first newly built operational electric excavator in the country. The R 9400 E backhoe excavator is equipped with the Liebherr cable reeler, enabling increased maneuvrability and optimised safety on site. Find out more

Liebherr tower crane works on unusual bridge construction

At first glance, it looks as if the Liebherr tower crane is floating in the air. Only the new bridge structure and the ground beneath it can be seen where the crane's foundations would normally be. The challenge at the construction site in Wittenberge (Brandenburg) is that the landscape surrounding the bridge is a nature reserve, so everything has to take place in as little space as possible. This has created an unusual site situation involving an approach that has never been seen before in Germany. Find out more

Liebherr at Excon: solutions for the Indian construction and raw material industry

Excon is the most important construction machinery exhibition in South Asia. From 12–16 December 2023 in Bangalore, Liebherr is presenting five machines from its Earthmoving und Cranes product segments. At the approx. 1000 m2 booth, visitors can see a tower crane, a rough terrain crane, two wheel loaders and a crawler dozer. Liebherr L1 fast-erecting crane at work inside Passau Cathedral

The organ at St Stephan's Cathedral in Passau incorporates 17,974 pipes, making it the largest Catholic church organ in the world. Renovation work means that there is currently a special visitor at the church. A Liebherr L1-24 fast-erecting crane has been given the honoured task of carefully moving the organ pipes, which weigh several hundred kilograms. Find out more

Liebherr lands in Hawaii

Earlier this year, Liebherr USA delivered and commissioned an R 9150 excavator in face shovel configuration for new customer, Hawaiian Cement.
