Economic transport and logistics of LR crawler cranes
Transport optimized for worldwide use
All our LR crawler cranes have one more thing in common: easy set-up, no matter wether a 100 tonne or 3,000 tonne type, all Liebherr cranes have a very logical design. This ensures fast assembly upon arrival on the job site - and a quick disassembly upon successful completion of the job.
When disassembled our LR crawler cranes have a compact transport width, the exact size of each part depends on the capacity of the crane. Economic transport is thus ensured.
Designed for road transportation
All our crawler crane components have a space-saving design and weights are optimized. This allows smooth transportation on all roads in accordance with current international transport regulations.

3 in 1: Boom system of LR 1800-1.0
Low-cost transport ideas are becoming more and more important. For the LR 1800-1.0 we developed three system dimensions for the standard crane which are simply pushed inside each other for transport. Just like a Russian doll.
The three system dimensions for a boom length of 96 metres for the main boom and 96 metres for the luffing jib means that five complete transport units can be dispensed with.
Saving money twice: The SX boom system
Equiped with the SX boom system, your LR crane features increased lifting capacities. So crane jobs of the next higher crane class are possible.
When designing this system extension, we’ve focused on economy. This means that crane operators only have to buy the 6 metre wide sections and the adapters in addition to the SX system.
And as you can see, it is also transport optimized.
Self-assembly: Quick and easy
The self-assembly and self-loading systems allow for assembly and disassembly of the machine without the need for an additional auxiliary crane. On-site, the crane is ready to operate in less than one hour.
First of all, the basic machine is unloaded independently using hydraulic jack-up cylinders.
Step 2: Crawlers
Subsequently, the uppercarriage unloads the crawlers, counterweight and boom sections using either its A-frame or boom foot.
Step 3: Boom
Boom sections can be transported interlaced to save space.
Hydraulically activated pins and quick connections accelerate the assembly process.
Step 4: Configuration
All boom configurations can be erected rapidly without an auxiliary crane.
