Press releases | 03/21/2017 Liebherr at Smopyc 2017 Trade Fair

  • Liebherr booth in the outdoor area, Pabellón 8, Calle B-D, Stand 1-8
  • Exhibits from Liebherr’s product range of earthmoving and material handling equipment

At Smopyc, the Liebherr Group showcases an overview of its range of earthmoving and material handling equipment from 25. to 29. April 2017 in Zaragoza. Visitors can find the Liebherr stand measuring 600 m² in the outdoor area, Pabellón 8, Calle B-D, Stand 1-8.

Liebherr presents in Zaragoza six machines for earthmoving and material handling equipment. The line-up includes a crawler excavator, a mobile excavator, a dozer, a wheel loader, a telescopic handler and a material handler. The Liebherr distributor Emsa is also presenting Liebherr machines for the earthmoving industry.

Powerful wheel loaders from the XPower generation and mid-range series

Liebherr is showing two vehicles from the XPower wheel loader generation and an all-round, mid-range wheel loader at Smopyc this year. Whether loading bulk materials, recycling demolition waste or in the scrap industry, Liebherr offers a wheel loader for every application with a vast range of possible uses.

Liebherr is presenting the L 566 XPower®, as well as the L 576 XPower® from the complete range of six XPower wheel loaders, both of which can be seen at the Emsa stand (Liebherr distributor). The XPower generation sets entirely new standards with respect to power output, fuel efficiency, robustness and comfort. No matter how tough the job, the XPower wheel loaders use up to 30 per cent less fuel than the competition.

The L 526 mid-range wheel loader can also be seen on Liebherr distributor Emsa's stand. This versatile all-rounder is the smallest wheel loader in the range which has three different models in total. With larger axles and a robust steel construction, Liebherr has set up the new all-round wheel loader for all eventualities. Fitted with powerful P-kinematics, the L 526 is a reliable partner for applications in the recycling industry.

R 946 crawler excavator

With an operating weight of 40 tonnes and a Liebherr engine with a power rating of 220kW / 299HP, the Liebherr R 946 crawler excavator satisfies Stage IV / Tier 4f exhaust gas emission guidelines.

The productive and efficient R 946 offers a high level of operator comfort. The technology is based on the Positive Control dual circuit hydraulic system, an intelligent system that uses sensors located at strategic positions on the excavator.

Every command from the excavator’s operator is processed by the control computer, which optimises operation of the engine and hydraulic system. The system enables maximum output with quick, fluid and precise movements. Depending on requirements, the circuits are separated or combined for optimal energy efficiency.

The operator's cab provides superb comfort and great ergonomics. The R 946 sets new standards with its spacious and pleasant workstation. With a seat that has pneumatic suspension as standard and ergonomic controls, maximum comfort is guaranteed. The fully-automatic air conditioning system is also a standard feature and ensures consistently pleasant working conditions.

R 960 Demolition crawler excavator

The R 960 Demolition crawler excavator supersedes the previous model, the R 954 C Demolition, and provides working heights of up to 33 m. With the R 960, tool attachments with a weight of up to 3.5 tonnes can be used and a high break-out force can be achieved. What is more, increased tool weights with greater reach enhances productivity.

Included in the R 960’s standard equipment is the Liebherr Demolition Control System (LDC), which won the innovation award at Intermat 2015. The system gives the operator information about the precise position of the demolition tool and thereby safeguards the stability of the excavator.

The position of the tool is displayed in colour and in real time on the touchscreen, along with the tilt angle of the machine. This provides the operator with real-time information about what movements are permitted. In this way, it is possible to minimise the probability of human error impairing the stability of the machine. Liebherr is currently the only manufacturer in the market that offers this system.

Higher performance, less consumption: the new A 918 Litronic

Liebherr presents the A 918 Litronic wheeled excavator compliant with the latest emission Stage IV / Tier 4f at Smopyc 2017. With an operating weight between 17.600 and 19.800kg and engine power of 120kW / 163HP, the A 918 is the ideal machine both for standard earthmoving and road construction, as well as drainage and pipeline work. The A 918 Litronic provides exceptionally high lift capacities and digging forces in addition to excellent travel performance and very low fuel consumption. A newly developed and highly efficient Liebherr diesel engine is installed in the Liebherr A 918 Litronic wheeled excavator. The innovative Liebherr SCR technology is used in this current engine generation, which consists of a SCR catalyst system and other components such as an injector and AdBlue® supply. A particulate filter is not necessary, but can also be installed for special construction site requirements. The complete system reduces exhaust emissions effectively without any compromise in performance. Thanks to the innovative Liebherr Power Efficiency (LPE), which optimally controls all power management processes of the new Liebherr wheeled excavators, the fuel consumption is reduced considerably. The proactive intervention in the engine control, adjustment of the swing angle of the hydraulic pump and of the engine speed, provide for optimum efficiency of the drive components in every working situation.

Liebherr-material handler LH 24 M Litronic

The LH 24 M Litronic has an operating weight of 23.700 to 24.200kg. The turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine with intercooler delivers its power of 105kW / 143HP at only 1,800rpm. The material handler combines comfort, performance and reliability. Furthermore, it offers the winning combination of ground-breaking fuel efficiency, high lift capacity and long reach distances. In spite of its compact dimensions, the LH 24 M is extraordinarily powerful and its robust undercarriage guarantees outstanding stability of the machine. The attachment is available in a variety of versions and is thus always optimally matched to the respective applications such as unloading and sorting materials, general cargo and bulk. The Liebherr operator's cab with fully automatic air conditioning system is equipped with infinitely variable operator's hydraulic cab elevation as standard. This offers the operator the best possible visibility of the working area, as well as ensuring safe and efficient working.

TL 441-7 telescopic handler

At Smopyc 2017, Liebherr showcases a TL 441-7 telescopic handler with 7 meter lifting height and 4.1 tonne load capacity. Liebherr telescopic handlers impress with the infinitely variable hydrostatic travel drive, the robust overall structure, the safe, simple and comfortable operation, as well as the excellent visibility thanks to the modern machine design.

The Liebherr telescopic handlers are versatile and are used in industrial applications, as well as in the recycling and disposal area, but also in the construction industry or in horticulture and landscaping. There is a large number of configuration variants available for adjusting to the different operating conditions. The spectrum ranges from special protective measures for dusty work environments to diverse comfort functions through to complete equipment and attachments.

PR 736 XL crawler tractor

Among Liebherr’s products on display at the 2017 Smopyc trade fair in Spain, is the PR 736 crawler tractor, a bulldozer of the successful Generation 6 with a service weight of between 20 and 25 tonnes. The machine concept has been designed for increased efficiency and reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The new Generation 6 models feature an electronically regulated travel drive with an integral eco-function. The driver can choose between high performance potential and maximum economy; the system automatically selected the most favourable settings for economical operation of all travel-drive components.

The PR 736’s cabin is a completely new development. The driver can move the ergonomically shaped travel controls to the most convenient position. An integral contact switch in the comfortable seat identifies the driver’s presence automatically, without a safety lever having to be operated. The desired travel speed can be freely preselected with no gear shifts needed, and memorised if necessary for direct selection when needed.
