Liebherr presents its latest mining technology at MINExpo 2024
At this year’s MINExpo, Liebherr is presenting advancements from its mining, earthmoving, mobile and crawler cranes, components and aerospace and transportation product segments. The company has made a number of product announcements during the exhibition, including the unveiling of its autonomous battery-electric T 264 haul truck, the new PR 776 Generation 8 dozer, and the expansion of its integrated technology portfolio, IoMine.

Liebherr’s mobile construction crane range is expanding
The MK 120-5.1 is the latest addition to Liebherr’s mobile construction crane range. The five-axle machine bridges the gap between the MK 88-4.1 and the MK 140-5.1. Alongside plenty of lifting power, it features a new display and an optional smaller load hook for working in confined spaces.

For easier city access and even higher lifts: Comlev takes delivery of Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1
The French company ALKALINE has taken delivery of a new Liebherr crane. As the second largest crane in the fleet of its subsidiary Comlev, the LTM 1120-4.1 impresses with its mobility, flexibility and compact dimensions.

The German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) placed an order with Liebherr for twelve LTC 1050-3.1 mobile cranes. Liebherr has already delivered nine cranes to various local organisations. THW President Sabine Lackner says: “Cranes are an indispensable tool for the specialist bridge construction groups. They enable THW personnel to lift heavy bridge elements and assemble them into structures that can reach spans of over 80 metres. The fact that THW has erected over three dozen temporary bridges in the past three years shows how important these vehicles are.”

This year, Hüffermann is celebrating its 111th anniversary. Through strategic growth, the company based in Wildeshausen, Lower Saxony, has evolved from a wagon workshop to a corporate group with over 800 employees. Hüffermann is a full-service provider for heavy-duty crane and project engineering solutions. Its ongoing procurement of Liebherr mobile and crawler cranes, as well as Liebherr tower cranes since 2021, has played a significant role in the company’s expansion.

Al Askar takes delivery of 26 used Liebherr LTM cranes
Al Askar has placed a major order for young used cranes – the Saudi Arabian company ordered 26 used mobile cranes in the medium lifting capacity class from Liebherr. Whilst it is primarily a mobile crane manufacturer, Liebherr is also an expert in refurbishing used cranes to customer specifications. Al Askar will receive high-quality, modern, powerful mobile cranes to strengthen its fleet.

The largest single order for Liebherr’s mobile construction cranes in Germany has been placed by the groups Wittrock and Ulferts. The companies are investing in twelve new MK 88-4.1 and MK 140-5.1 cranes to upgrade and expand their existing fleet.

Reaching for the stars – LTM 1060/2 from GRÚAS BOVIER SRL hoists meteorites in Argentina
The range of hoisting jobs which crane service providers are asked to do by their customers is quite diverse. Argentinian company GRÚAS BOVIER SRL completed a very special crane job in the province of Entre Rios – to the north of Buenos Aires, two meteorites had to be lifted out of a museum and prepared for transport.

First Liebherr mobile crane – KönningKrane takes delivery of Liebherr LTM 1160-5.2
KönningKrane GmbH & Co KG from Stadtlohn in the north-west of North Rhine-Westphalia has bought its first Liebherr mobile crane – an LTM 1160-5.2 with a maximum lifting capacity of 180 tonnes extends its crane range towards higher capacities. Its high performance and width of just 2.75 metres were important factors behind the decision.

In recent months, Formac, S.A., a manufacturer of precast concrete elements in the Spanish province of Ciudad Real, has been working with one of the first delivered examples of the new LTM 1110-5.2 mobile crane. The LICCON3-controlled machine in the new design has already impressed the provider of turnkey industrial halls with its excellent performance as well as its outstanding driving characteristics on the road. High lifting capacities, precision and safety were the decisive criteria for Formac when purchasing its newest mobile crane.

70 tonnes at an altitude of 150 metres: Hofmann's LR 1800-1.0 assembles wind turbines in Prüm
Two 5.7 MW Nordex wind turbines were erected on a former military site in the Bitburg-Prüm district. The partner for these complicated lifts was the crane company Hofmann based in Paderborn (part of the Bracht Group). The two N163 5.7 turbines with a hub height of 160 metres were erected by the brand-new Liebherr LR 1800-1.0 lattice boom crawler crane at the end of May 2024.

Great flexibility and a large radius – Tamás és Zsolt Kft. takes delivery of LTM 1650-8.1
Tamás és Zsolt Kft. has added an LTM 1650-8.1 to its fleet to meet the increasing demand for cranes in the 700-tonne class. The 8-axle vehicle has a nominal lifting capacity of 700 tonnes, features VarioBallast®, is suitable for global mobility and can reach hoisting heights of 151 metres – making it suitable for the increasing demands placed on crane operations.

New LTM 1090-4.2 added to Rolf Herbold GmbH’s crane fleet
Rolf Herbold GmbH has purchased a new addition to its fleet, an LTM 1090-4.2, to replace a 15-year-old 5-axle crane. This is the response by the Swabian mobile crane and working platform rental company to the increasingly narrow roads in new development areas because the new mobile crane is just 2.55 metres wide.

Kran Völkl takes delivery of LTM 1150-5.3 mobile crane and LTC 1050-3.1 compact crane
Bavarian specialist for crane work and heavy haulage, Kran Völkl GmbH & Co. KG, has added two new cranes to its fleet – an LTM 1150-5.3 and an LTC 1050-3.1. When purchasing the mobile crane, driving on public roads with a high counterweight was crucial, whereas the high telescopic loads were a decisive factor for chosing the compact crane.
