Two Liebherr excavators that differ through 55 years of mechanical development: a story about passion, technology and durability

Two crawler excavators came together on a construction site in Münsterland. Both are Liebherr machines, but there are 55 years of machine development between them. One is a Liebherr R 901 from 1968, weighing around 10 tonnes and with an angular design. It has been lovingly restored. The other: an ultra-modern Liebherr R 978 SME weighing over 80 tonnes with high-tech equipment, developed for the quarrying industry. The two exhibits share a common history.

25 Liebherr machines for the Max Bögl Group

The Max Bögl Group relies on Liebherr: 25 earthmoving machines will be in use for Bögl in the future. Part of the major order includes 16 crawler excavators, which Max Bögl has taken over from the Beutlhauser Group as a Liebherr sales partner. In future, the Liebherr R 930, R 934, and R 926 Compact crawler excavators will be used together with five new A 924 wheeled excavators for earthworks on sections of the new Suedlink and SuedOstLink routes.

Liebherr expands digital integration with Unicontrol on G8 crawler dozer

Liebherr‘s Generation 8 crawler dozers can now be connected to Unicontrol machine control systems via Liebherr Unicontrol Easy Link. This integration enables contractors and equipment distributors to equip Liebherr dozers with blade mounted GPS/GNSS 3D control systems, combining Liebherr’s robust machine performance with Unicontrol’s intuitive, operator-friendly technology.

Based in Ontario, southern Canada, L. Walter & Sons Excavating currently operates a solid rock quarry with particularly challenging working conditions, including the extraction of heavy materials of 2.2 t/m3 density, large-size blocks and abrasive rock. The R 992 crawler excavator was the obvious strategic choice for the company, thanks to its performance tailor-made for difficult environments.
