Liebherr crane supports restoration of Hagia Sopia Mosque in Istanbul

The Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, one of the world’s most iconic landmarks with 1,500 years of history, is currently undergoing restoration. To carry out the highly sensitive work, a Liebherr 280 HC-L luffing jib crane has been installed, becoming a temporary but striking addition to Istanbul’s skyline. Liebherr Tower Cranes builds the future of production at its Biberach site

Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of tower cranes and mobile construction cranes, will invest a nine-figure sum in the extensive modernisation of its Biberach (Riß) site between now and 2034. The first phase will see several tens of millions going into the renovation and expansion of the production plant.
