Working with Liebherr Mining: an electrifying experience

Since the launch of its Zero Emission Mining Program in 2021, Liebherr Mining has embarked on a number of projects that explore how the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) can help to reduce emissions. To ensure that Liebherr Mining has the most suitable people working on this project, one such recruit was Kareem Oubid, a high voltage (HV) electrician currently working with Liebherr-Australia in Western Australia to support and maintain electric-drive mining equipment.

Market introduction of the Liebherr R 9300: a cutting-edge 250-tonne mining excavator

The R 9300 Generation 8 – the newest excavator in the Liebherr Mining range – can now be purchased. Following successful validation at a mine in Indonesia, the R 9300 has proven its ability to improve both productivity and efficiency on site. Once the machine enters serial production in 2024, it will replace the R 9250 within the 250-tonne class.

On behalf of science: Crane deployment at the Deutsches Museum with Maier-Landshut

As part of renovation work at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, a Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile crane has moved a 44-tonne impeller of a Francis turbine. The work was carried out by Kran-Maier GmbH & Co. KG from Landshut.

170 million euro investment: New Liebherr production site in Alsace

Liebherr-France SAS, based in Colmar, France, is responsible for the development and production of the Liebherr Group's crawler excavators. As part of its efforts to strengthen local supply chains, Liebherr-France SAS is planning to open a new manufacturing site for welded components as well as pre-assembly and assembly work for driver cabs in the EcoRhena industrial park in Nambsheim (Alsace, France) in 2025. Liebherr is investing 170 million euros on an area of around 47 ha and will create more than 300 jobs.

Guindastes Centro Oeste takes over first Liebherr mobile crane LTM 1230-5.1

The first Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 arrived in Brazil this month. Guindastes Centro Oeste’s new 230-tonne crane is the successor to the successful LTM 1200-5.1 and boasts one of the longest boom in its class, reaching a height of 75 meters. Additionally, the new 230-tonne crane offers, on average, 20% more lifting capacity than its predecessor. Equipped with VarioBase®, VarioBallast®, ECOmode, and ECOdrive technologies, this crane operates with maximum safety and efficiency.

Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse, the Liebherr Group's center of excellence for air systems, is pursuing its industrial development in the Occitanie region with the construction of a 12,000 m² state-of-the-art building on its Campsas site in the Tarn-et-Garonne region. Commissioning is scheduled for 2025.

The first LTM 1150-5.3 in Chile goes to Grupo Vivargo S.A.C. The versatile Liebherr 5-axle crane impresses, among other things, with its long telescopic boom, high lifting capacities and the variable support base VarioBase®. Vivargo also sees Liebherr as a reliable partner in the areas of support and service. After the exhibition at the Chilean trade fair Expomin, the main areas of application for the new LTM 1150-5.3 at Vivargo will be in the mining and energy sectors.
