When it comes to efficiency, we don’t focus on only one factor. We keep our eye on several things at once. All elements of our appliances are sensible and harmoniously coordinated to achieve optimal efficiency, sustainability, comfort and costs to name a few.

Energy consumption: keeping it green

Our highly energy-efficient appliances allow you to contribute to environmental protection. The resource-saving operation also means reductions in CO2 emissions. However, you can also have a clear conscience with a Liebherr. We use natural refrigerants, for example and propellants with the lowest possible global warming potential (GWP). And in production we also fulfil our environmental responsibilities. For example, we are entirely switching over our European production sites to green energy.

Reduce electricity. Not power.

It sounds contradictory: Reducing consumption and electricity costs while power stays high. How does that work? For one thing, our sensors keep getting more intelligent. It continually adapts cooling power to current usage. Liebherr appliances only use their full power reserves when it’s absolutely necessary. For example to cool down a large quantity of groceries after the weekly shop.

As big as you want: our cooling volume

Whether it's a small bistro or a large kitchen – we have the right solution for all room sizes and locations. Our appliances are all different but they have one thing in common: They give you efficient and clear storage. For example, the interior of our fridges are designed for GN containers and the interior of our freezers are designed for Euro boxes. You don’t want just any old appliance; you want the right one.

Cools and cools and cools.

You can rely on our fridges. At all times. All functional parts are tested to ensure they have a 15-year service life. And in the event of a problem, we guarantee spare parts will be available for ten years after production ends. A Liebherr will be by your side forever, with incredible temperature stability and the necessary safety for your valuable products. Thanks to the low energy consumption and practically maintenance-free construction, the acquisition costs balance out after a few years in comparison to an old appliance.

This makes it now possible to distinguish more easily between efficient and inefficient appliances.

With the new energy label for fridges and freezers with direct sales function since 1 March 2021.

According to the new EU regulation, from 1 March it is mandatory to indicate the energy efficiency of all fridges and freezers with direct sales function. This is done with a new label, which is intended to aid the purchase decision. Appliances are ranked on an efficiency scale from A to G, depending on efficiency. The mandatory information on the label varies for the following product groups: Beverage fridges, ice-cream chest freezers, and refrigeration and freezing appliances for supermarkets. This means that there are different versions of the new label.

Incidentally: There has been a label requirement for storage cabinets since 1 July 2019. One more thing: Laboratory equipment and pharmacy fridges are exempt from the label obligation.

You can find out how efficient our appliances are using the online tool from the EU-financed projects LABEL2020 and BELT. At this site you can view and compare the electricity consumption and lots of other product data for electrical appliances. The calculator also takes account of local electricity prices and shows the costs for the entire period of use. The comparison shows that: A Liebherr is worth it!

Our fridges use very little electricity. No wonder that many Liebherr appliances can be found in the most economical energy efficiency classes A and B. This efficiency has two advantages: They protect the environment. And they lower your electricity bill.
