Many objects have a history. But that of an inconspicuous Liebherr refrigerator from 1994, which stood forgotten for decades in a warehouse, is a very special one: It tells of historians and developers, the sun, Africa and the birth of Liebherr’s modern energy-saving household appliances.
The latest Liebherr story goes on a journey through time, into the 1990s, when Liebherr-Hausgeräte GmbH introduced CFC and FC-free refrigerators to its product portfolio for the first time. The development team from back then speaks about those times of upheaval, their innovative pioneering work and why the first Liebherr solar refrigerator, the KT 1580-Solar, was invented.
