Our durable pitch bearing grease (also called “Duro Wind PBG”) is a lubricant specifically purposed for non-continuously rotating bearing arrangements in wind turbines. These include pitch and yaw bearings, as they do not require a continuous rotation of the bearings during operation. The oscillating movements in small pitch angle and the extreme loads exerted by the rotor blades place highest demands on so-called pitch bearings. And this is where our wind grease comes into play.

By optimally adapting to the high requirements in terms of sliding and mixed friction, our durable pitch bearing grease significantly improves the lubrication properties of pitch and yaw bearings. Composition matters!

The Liebherr durable pitch bearing grease is walk-stable, resistant to oxidation and water, and has excellent anti-corrosion and anti-wear properties.

By using high-quality synthetic oils, white solid lubricants and special EP additives, as well as the evaluated VCI corrosion inhibitor, the durable pitch bearing grease by Liebherr offers excellent protection against wear and moisture corrosion even under heavy loads and effectively reduces false brinelling damage.

Testing makes all the difference

The performance of this new lubricant has been quantified by means of extensive tests with independent institutes in order to meet the benchmark of common pitch bearing greases.

The result of this benchmark test, which includes wear protection, low-temperature properties and false brinneling tendency, shows significant differences between the individual lubricants.
