Liebherr delivers the 1,000th Airbus A220 landing gear brace to Airbus Canada
Liebherr achieved a major milestone with the delivery of the 1,000th Airbus A220 landing gear brace assembled at Liebherr-Canada in Laval.
Dedication and hard work made it possible: An assembly team consisting of employees of Liebherr-Canada Ltd. in Laval and of the Original Equipment Manufacturer Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH in Lindenberg (Germany) proudly announced recently the delivery of the 1,000th landing gear brace to the Airbus A220 final assembly lines in Mirabel (Canada) and Mobile, Alabama (USA).
“This major milestone underlines our commitment to our customers and our aim to continuously optimize our performance. The assembly process involving intricate parts requires coordination as well as close interdisciplinary cooperation. We have set here a new benchmark in reduced assembly time, which is testament of our efficiency”, says Stéphane Rioux, Divisional Director at Liebherr-Canada Ltd.
“Additionally, our strategic geographical proximity to our customer Airbus Canada allows us to facilitate fast delivery and to provide individual final assembly line support directly on site that is tailored to Airbus’ needs. Liebherr supplies electromechanical rudder actuator for Phenom 300EV – a milestone in civil aviation
Liebherr-Aerospace has signed an agreement with Embraer to become part of the rudder-by-wire upgrade of the flight control system for the Phenom 300EV. The upgrade includes an electromechanical rudder actuator with integrated control and power electronics. It is one of the world’s first primary flight control applications of an electromechanical actuator (EMA) for a rudder on a civil aircraft. Furthermore, it is the first rudder EMA with fully integrated electronics.
