"Liebherr really deserved the two awards for the innovative technical implementations of the occupational safety and health protection concept", stated Prof. Frank Werner (BG BAU) praising the applications from the two Liebherr companies.
"We are delighted with the award", stated Prof. Dr. Norbert Stanger, who accepted the award on behalf of Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH together with Joachim Mayer. The Biberach-based company received the accolade for the product LiUP. With the crane driver elevator, the crane driver or service employee safely reaches the driver's cab in roughly two minutes. Following a one-off installation, the guide rails remain in the towers and the elevator itself together with the charging station in a tower section. There is thus no additional assembly and logistics work required for subsequent erection on the construction site.
Werner Seifried and Thomas Zitterbart received the award on behalf of the entire Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH. The hydraulic quick-change system with detection of the attachment locking mechanism from the Kirchdorf-based company was honoured. When changing the attachment the quick-change device of a hydraulic excavator becomes a monitored and secured coupling, because a second proximity switch detects whether the attachment is in the correct position. Werner Seifried: "The award demonstrates once again the impressive innovative strength of Liebherr."
The EuroTest award is an acknowledgement of excellent performances of, for example, companies in the area of occupational safety and machine safety, and is traditionally awarded during Bauma.

Liebherr is increasing the overall service life of its Fibre ropes from 14 to 16 years, with the decisive period of use rising to up to 12 years. This is based on multi-year ageing trials on test rigs and analyses of ropes already in field. The new ruling applies automatically to all new ropes and those already in the field. This step forms part of Liebherr's ongoing path towards establishing Fibre technology as the new standard in the tower crane market.

Five questions that show why planning a tower crane deployment is more complex than you might think
On spectacular construction sites, it's the structures that take the spotlight. But building bridges, tunnels or skyscrapers in the first place often demands equally extraordinary crane concepts. From the Sagrada Família in Barcelona to the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel in Denmark, Liebherr supports demanding tower crane deployments worldwide. Max Widder, Head of Project Planning at Tower Crane Solutions, gives insight into the challenges behind some of the most complex crane projects in the world.

At InnoTrans 2026, Liebherr will unveil its new railroad excavator for the first time: the RE 22 M Litronic. This model expands the existing range to include a machine in the 22-tonne class with hydrostatic rail-wheel drive and is the successor to the A 922 Rail and A 924 Rail. The machine combines tried-and-tested components from the A 922 Rail with a newly developed undercarriage and a new operator's cab.
