Liebherr at Bauma 2025: Five exciting insights on the topic of digitalisation
Under the slogan ‘Hands on the future’, Liebherr will be showcasing solutions for the construction sites of the future at Bauma 2025. Discover over 70 exhibits and a variety of individual solutions at Liebherr’s 14,000 m2 booth, which also includes many exciting insights on the topic of digitalisation. Here are five interesting facts about digitalisation.
1

Digitalisation as a continuous process
At Liebherr, we see digitalisation as a continuous process that must be driven forward with a great deal of foresight. Topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) will play an increasingly important role and will be more strongly integrated into all machines and work processes in the future. We will also forge ahead with the expansion of the cloud infrastructure to process the growing volumes of data efficiently and to facilitate new data-powered business models.
2

New assistance systems
Modern assistance systems and (semi-)autonomous functions make construction sites safer and more efficient. The K series fast-erecting crane, which is more powerful and features a more advanced control system and a new operating system, will be presented at Bauma. These cranes are equipped with new, intelligent Liebherr operator assistance systems. Smart functions such as swing-free lifting of the load without a diagonal pull, for example, increase safety for those on site. Plus, when combined with semi-automated lifts, they make the machine more operator-friendly. Liebherr will also be exhibiting mobile cranes with new operator assistance systems such as the Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) and the Moving Off Information System (MOIS).
3

Machine autonomy on the construction site
At Bauma 2025, Liebherr will also focus on how digitalisation is advancing machine autonomy. An autonomously operating wheel loader will be demonstrated live in the outdoor area. The basis for this is the in-house developed autonomous driving system called ‘Liebherr Autonomous Operations’. The autonomous solution, which is at an advanced stage of development, facilitates completely driverless operation. Visitors can also experience how the Liebherr Remote Control System (LiReCon) remotely controls various products of the Group, from construction cranes to earthmoving machines.
4

Innovative digital solutions
Digital solutions enable relevant machine and process data to be collected. Analysis and evaluation ensure that machine operations and machine maintenance can be predicted with more precision and so planned for more effectively, based on modern technologies. At Bauma, Liebherr will be presenting the Energy Planner – a browser-based software for planning the power and energy requirements of a construction site.
5

Intelligent machine and system networking
Liebherr Connect represents intelligent machine networking and enables efficient, safe and convenient machine operation. By connecting to digital services and analysis tools, it offers machine operators reliable access to relevant operating and process data at all times. This allows downtimes to be minimised, maintenance intervals to be optimised and machine fleets to be operated more economically. With Liebherr Connect, numerous digital solutions provided via the MyLiebherr customer portal or in the AppStores can be linked directly to Liebherr machines. One example of this is the LTM 1120-4.2 mobile crane with LICCON3 control system on display at Bauma. This is prepared for telemetry and fleet management as standard and will enable crane operators to view all relevant machine data securely and conveniently via MyLiebherr in future and make data-based decisions.
