MiC 4.0 BUS stands for intelligent, standardised and cross-manufacturer communication in the construction machinery sector. This innovative solution enables data from construction machines, attachments, sensors and digital services to be seamlessly integrated.
The MiC 4.0 BUS communication standard provides support to operating companies in operating their machine fleets optimally, reducing downtime and increasing profitability in the long term. Manufacturers of attachments benefit from easier access to the construction machine and, as a result, a significant reduction in the effort required to fit their products.
Users themselves benefit from complete flexibility when operating various MiC attachments on the construction machine and enhanced safety thanks to the construction machine’s automatic tool recognition system.

One working group – one common language.
Working together for the digital construction site: Launched in 2019 by the VDMA (Construction Machines and Building Materials Plant Association) and the HDB (Main Association of the German Construction Industry), the working group is promoting standardised, cross-manufacturer communication throughout the construction process. Over 130 members from eight countries are already actively shaping the future – and the group is open to anyone who wants to help drive the digitalisation of construction sites.
As one of the leading manufacturers of construction machines, Liebherr is part of this industry-wide network and supports the shared objective of establishing a cross-manufacturer standard.

We are proud to be able to offer our customers the MiC 4.0 BUS package on our 8th-generation wheeled excavators. This represents an important step in the direction of standardised, digital communication on the building site.
