75 years of Liebherr, the company’s biggest ever contract and spectacular projects: 2024 was a year packed with unforgettable moments.
2024 saw Liebherr celebrate its 75th anniversary under the motto ‘75 years of moving forward’. Ever since Hans Liebherr invented the first mobile tower crane in 1949, the company has been shaped by a pioneering spirit and innovative prowess. Another major milestone in 2024 was the signing of the single largest order in the company’s history: Liebherr and the global technology, energy and metal group Fortescue agreed on a contract for the delivery of 475 machines. There was also the moment when the new LTM 1400-6.1 all-terrain crane was launched at the Ehingen customer days to the delight of an audience of 4,000 customers. Liebherr also celebrated the 100,000th machine rolling out of the plant at the Group’s founding location in Kirchdorf an der Iller (Germany). Another milestone was the presentation of the first Cradle to Cradle Certified® freezer, which embodies the principles of the circular economy. There was the groundbreaking ceremony for a new logistics centre in Tupelo (MS/USA) to increase the logistics capacities in North America.
