LiSIM move is a mobile, high-precision crane simulator for flexible, sustainable training anywhere. It fits into any setting – port, classroom, or remote site. With original Liebherr joysticks, intuitive controls, and immersive VR, it delivers a realistic, ergonomic training experience that mirrors real crane operations.
Training without borders. The LiSIM move is Liebherr’s latest innovation in crane operator training development. The fully mobile simulator is designed for rapid deployment and enables realistic training for Liebherr mobile harbour cranes, specifically the LHM 550 and LHM 800, across container, bulk, and breakbulk operations. The system includes original Liebherr controls, a lifelike VR environment, and a user-friendly instructor interface, all optimised for portability and performance.
LiSIM move is ideal not only for skill development but also for recruitment assessments and onboarding, making it a strategic tool for workforce planning. The system supports a wide range of training scenarios, from basic manoeuvres to complex operational challenges. Operators can practise 16 container handling exercises, 5 bulk handling tasks, and 6 breakbulk operations, each based on real-life port conditions. Adjustable settings such as ship draught and lighting conditions allow for tailored instruction, while built-in performance tracking ensures measurable progress. The setup takes just 15 minutes, and based on life cycle assessment, the LiSIM move saves ~99% of CO2 emissions compared to real crane training, which supports both operational and environmental goals.
‘LiSIM move allows us to bring world-class training directly to our customers, wherever they are’, says Christian Schneider, Product Manager DiSC at Liebherr-MCCtec GmbH. ‘But it’s more than just mobility. By replicating real-world conditions in a safe, controlled environment, we’re helping ports and terminals build a stronger, more resilient workforce.’
By eliminating the need for a stationary system, LiSIM move reduces both cost and downtime. It is ideally suited for temporary training programmes, remote locations, or expanding port operations, offering a scalable solution that adapts to evolving workforce needs.
Despite its compact footprint, LiSIM move delivers the same immersive experience as Liebherr’s fixed simulators. Operators can train in environments that mirror real-world conditions, from ULCVs and Post Panamax vessels to hoppers, barges, and breakbulk zones. Liebherr’s global network of over 50 service centres ensures that every LiSIM move deployment is supported by expert assistance and long-term reliability. This commitment to service is integral to Liebherr’s training philosophy.
‘Our goal was to make high-quality crane training more accessible without sacrificing realism or performance’, says Christian Schneider. ‘LiSIM move achieves exactly that: bringing the future of operator training to the present.’
As the maritime industry faces growing demands for safety, sustainability, and skilled personnel, LiSIM move offers a timely and transformative solution. It reflects Liebherr’s vision for a more agile, responsive, and empowered approach to workforce development where training is no longer limited by location but driven by opportunity.
