LGP 800 - 2000

The modular machine platform of the LGP series enables cost-effective machining of workpieces up to 2,000 mm in diameter and sets new standards in precision, flexibility and productivity.

The thermosymmetric machine bed with integrated coolant circulation ensures outstanding thermal stability, whilst the hydrostatically supported direct drive table offers long-lasting, wear-free accuracy. A key feature is the sequential use of two profile grinding discs without the need to change tools: for shorter cycle times, better surface quality, or an optimal combination of both.

The LGP is designed for high-speed grinding, creep feed grinding and single- and double-flank topological grinding. An optional internal grinding arm also enables high-precision internal machining. This proven machine concept combines a thermally stable design, an active A-axis system, an innovative grinding head and the LHGearTec software. The machine can be fitted with automation solutions such as pallet changers or ringloaders.

In this version, the grinding head is fitted directly with two independently operating grinding spindles. This allows different abrasive specifications – from roughing and finish machining to fine grinding and polishing – to be used without changing tools.

For large modules, the grinding flanks (LF/RF) can be machined separately, which further improves machining quality and process reliability.

When machining collision‑critical gearings with smaller grinding wheels, the grinding head can be optionally equipped with a high‑speed grinding spindle.

All versions of the PGH 450 FX grinding head can be fitted with different internal grinding arms as required. The internal grinding arms also fit onto the spindle interface on the grinding head and can therefore be easily retrofitted.

The grinding head is fitted with a swivelling probe as standard.

With the help of the additional gear check software, workpieces can be inspected quickly and efficiently on the machine. Using the software’s cyclic testing function, the quality of the components can be checked at regular intervals. Alternatively, a check is carried out to ensure that the correct amount of material has been removed before grinding.
