The US Air Force selection of the Boeing MH-139 to replace the UH-1N Huey will bring two core Liebherr systems into general use by the United States Air Force: The heating and ventilation system for the MH-139 will be supplied by Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS (France), while the main and nose landing gear will be manufactured by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH in Germany.

  • MH-139 main landing gear developed and produced by Liebherr-Aerospace

  • MH-139 landing gear control monitoring electronics

  • In September 2018, the MH-139 was selected to replace the aging UH-1N fleet. A joint effort by Boeing and Leonardo based on the successful AW139 helicopter, the MH-139 will be assembled by Leonardo at its Philadelphia, PA (USA) plant, with Boeing integrating key military components nearby.

The AW139 is a solid helicopter platform with more than 270 government, military, and civilian customers worldwide. The US Air Force expects to order up to 84 MH-139 helicopters, the first entering service in 2021.
