The Liebherr company intends to process the B2B communication with their partners via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), e.g. orders, delivery instructions, delivery notes, invoices ...
Two options of EDI are offered:
"classic" EDI based on the OFTP protocol
WEB EDI based on a web platform
All processes are defined and implemented by the Corporate E-Business Center in Kirchdorf/Iller (Germany).
By the end of 2006 all Liebherr locations will be able to send, receive and process EDI messages.
A central part of the EDI concept are the following standards for data interchange: "Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce and Transport" (EDIFACT), "American National Standards Institute" (ANSI) and "Verband der Automobilindustrie" (VDA). These standards are internationally established, no others will be supported.
