Liebherr-Components Biberach GmbH was founded in 2012. The company evolved from the splitting up of Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH. Until the end of 2011, it developed and manufactured construction cranes as well as components for drive and control technology systems. The grouping and current autonomy of Liebherr-Components Biberach GmbH creates optimal growth perspectives for the company at the Biberach location.

In 2015 Liebherr-Components Biberach GmbH was expanded with the addition of a subsidiary plant next to the Biberach airfield. Since then the area of electrical drive and control technology, including the product lines control technology and electric machines, has had its head office there. The central management and production of slewing bearings and drives are still located on the main site.
High-quality components and their areas of application
Liebherr-Components Biberach GmbH develops and manufactures high-quality components and systems for high-performance drive and control technology. The slewing bearings, gearboxes, rope winches, electric machines, control cabinets and products from the area of power electronics produced here have versatile uses: For example they are used in earthmoving machines and wind turbines, in open-cast mining, and in maritime applications. Vehicle and transportation systems as well as machine tools run using components and systems from Biberach.
