02.10.2014 Liebherr Establishes Customer Service Workshop for Rail Transport Equipment in North America
Korneuburg (Austria), September 2014 – Liebherr-Transportation Systems has expanded its service network with a new workshop in Saline, Michigan (USA).
The workshop, which has been set up recently, will be used for repairing, overhauling and testing hydraulic components for the leveling systems of rail vehicles. Thus, Liebherr-Transportation Systems will be able to offer a broad range of services to vehicles manufacturers and operators in North America, who increasingly use such hydraulic applications. Being so close to the customer also enables the company to substantially reduce transport distances and turn-around times. Currently, the service technicians at Saline are currently servicing the leveling systems of the rail cars operated by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) in Chicago, Illinois (USA) and by the operator Metro in Houston, Texas (USA).
The customer service workshop has been created on the grounds of Liebherr-Aerospace Saline, Inc. This service station of Liebherr-Aerospace has successfully been servicing and repairing the air management systems, flight control and actuation systems and landing gear systems of aircraft and helicopters since 1991. Liebherr-Transportation Systems has benefited from the existing infrastructure and is set up according to its own requirements.
