Where automation is key

Entering the production halls of Liebherr-Electronics and Drives GmbH in Lindau, visitors encounter not only autonomous transport robots but also further technological highlights such as a fully automated assembly station. This station is the result of in-house expertise. It was fully designed, modularised and implemented by the company’s own employees. All components, from mechanics and electrics through to software, were developed through the collaboration of a local project team. Today, the assembly station independently and precisely assembles electronic components, combining digitalisation with future-oriented workplaces.

Where products are tested to the limit

The requirements placed on electronics from Lindau vary depending on the application. Customers use their machines worldwide under a wide range of conditions. Whether exposed to extreme heat, salty air or strong vibrations, the electronic components must perform reliably. At the company’s own test centre in Lindau, employees ensure that these requirements are met. Test specimens undergo a range of procedures depending on their future field of application. For example, power electronics for offshore cranes must successfully pass testing in a salt spray chamber.

steinexpo 2026: Liebherr showcases its expertise in machinery and digital innovations for the extraction industry
At steinexpo 2026 from 2 to 5 September 2026, Liebherr will be showcasing eight exhibits from its earthmoving, mining and components product ranges. A world first will be unveiled at stand A27, which covers an exhibition space of around 1,000 m². Also on display are a dump truck, two XPower wheel loaders, two Generation 8 crawler dozers, a grid-connected electric mining excavator, a telescopic handler and a mobile energy storage system.
