Недавно свой 20й день рождения отпраздновал башенный кран Liebherr 91EC, установленный в Университете Джеймса Кука для помощи ученым в наблюдении за тропическими лесами. Кран высотой 47 метров используется для перемещения исследователей – биологов и экологов от подножия мыса на его вершину.
20 лет работы крана были признаны самым длительным сроком службы башенного крана в Австралии. В первые годы кран устоял перед циклоном третьей категории, а впоследствии был оборудован дополнительными автоматическими датчиками и беспроводной системой обмена данными.
Будучи одним из членов команды, участвовавшей в установке крана 20 лет назад, генеральный менеджер департамента мобильных кранов Liebherr-Australia Эндрю Эсквилант, а также Крейг Джонс и Джефф Кук из компании Morrow Equipment недавно посетили мероприятие по случаю годовщины.

Liebherr is increasing the overall service life of its Fibre ropes from 14 to 16 years, with the decisive period of use rising to up to 12 years. This is based on multi-year ageing trials on test rigs and analyses of ropes already in field. The new ruling applies automatically to all new ropes and those already in the field. Foundation and excavation and lateral support works have been underway since December 2024 and are expected to continue until end of 2026.
