Store Person - InstallationKillarney
Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. (LCC) is inviting applications for the position of Store Person – Installation 4KC within the Installation Department. Reporting to the Contracts Manager – Installation 4KC (or his/her delegate), the successful candidate will support the coordination of parts, materials and equipment required for assembly, commissioning and handover activities in Cobh and across global installation locations.
The role is focused on ensuring that critical parts and components are identified, prioritised, controlled and dispatched efficiently to meet project and site requirements. The position also involves close coordination with LCC’s Stores and Transport Departments, together with periodic travel to support shipment inspections, site readiness reviews and general logistics coordination at project locations.
Key elements of the role
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate the timely supply and distribution of parts, components and materials required for assembly operations in Cobh and at global installation sites.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for parts and components required for project execution.
- Record all inventory transactions accurately within the relevant inventory management systems, including Liebherr systems such as BaaN.
- Carry out regular stock checks and support inventory accuracy and control.
- Operate forklifts, telehandlers, MEWPs and similar equipment, as required, to load, unload, move and store materials safely.
- Act as a key point of contact for assembly site material requirements and coordinate priorities with internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Stores and Transport Departments to ensure critical parts are identified, prioritised and dispatched efficiently.
- Support shipment inspections, logistics reviews and site readiness activities at project locations, including international travel where required.
- Compile and maintain reporting information for management on material status, priorities and logistics updates.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, site personnel and client representatives to support open and effective communication.
- Promote the highest standards of health and safety, housekeeping, hygiene and security in line with Liebherr requirements.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support the ongoing development of the role and related processes.
- Provide regular status updates to the Contracts Manager and support any other duties that may arise or be directed by management.
- Any other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications / Experience
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a demanding industrial, logistics or project environment.
- Forklift experience and a valid forklift licence are essential.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, both verbal and written, with fluent English required.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities and priorities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse issues, solve problems and respond effectively to changing project requirements.
- Experience using inventory or ERP systems is desirable; knowledge of Liebherr systems such as BaaN would be an advantage.
- Experience in site assembly, project logistics or LCC products would be an advantage.
- Flexibility to travel internationally and to spend extended periods away from head office, where required.
