About the role As part of the branch Management team, the Commercial Manager is responsible for the timely and effective analysis of branch financial results and partnering with relevant stakeholders to identify strategies/initiatives that improve financial performance. In addition, the Commercial Manager provides hands-on effective leadership that enables the branch commercial team to deliver effective administrative services to the Mining division and its customers.
Duties
- Analyse department/branch results and work with relevant managers to develop strategies and systems to improve financial performance
- Provide leadership to the branch Commercial team, including personnel development and training
- Provide operational financial support and advice to internal customers
- Oversee month end processes including accruals, expense allocations, invoice submissions and reports
- Review the fortnightly payroll process at branch level, including cost analysis and spot-auditing
- Prepare and submit financial reports and tenders
- Manage budget processes
- Manage insurance claims, as well as asset management
Skills & experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in a financial role within a large organisation
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is essential
- Demonstrated experience managing a team
- Demonstrated experience providing strategic financial support and advice at management level in a large organisation
- Attention to detail and high-level accuracy of work
- Customer focused
- High level written and verbal communication skills
