steinexpo 2026, held at Europe’s largest basalt quarry, is an important exhibition for Liebherr in the earthmoving, mining and components sectors. For four days, Nieder-Ofleiden in central Germany will become a hub for the raw materials and construction materials industry. Visitors will experience a world first at the 1,000 m² Liebherr stand A27. Other highlights from the earthmoving product range include the TA 230 articulated dump truck, two L 580 XPower wheel loaders and the PR 726 and PR 756 Generation 8 crawler dozers. From its mining product range, Liebherr is showcasing the large R 9150 E mining excavator with a grid-connected electric drive, whilst its components division is exhibiting the LPO 600 mobile energy storage system.
The manoeuvrable T 60-9s telescopic handler with hydrostatic drive is taking on two tasks at the exhibition. With its powerful working hydraulics, the machine is ideal for efficiently transporting large quantities of material, so it will be used during the logistical set-up of the exhibition stand ahead of the official opening. Once the installation work has been completed, the T 60-9s will be moved to the exhibition space, where it will be on display throughout the event.
High-performance dump truck for transporting materials in demanding applications
The Liebherr TA 230 Litronic is a 30-tonne articulated dump truck designed for demanding applications in quarries and mining. With a payload of up to 28 tonnes, a body capacity of up to 18.10 m³ and a 360 PS engine, this dumper offers high productivity and reliability in day-to-day operation. The permanent 6x6 all-wheel drive, the automatic differential lock and the robust axle suspension ensure excellent performance – even on the most challenging terrain and on steep inclines. The design can be further adapted to abrasive operating conditions using optional wear protection solutions. The soundproofed cab, the generous all-round visibility, the standard weighing system and other assistance systems enhance comfort and safety.
Power meets efficiency: L 580 XPower wheel loader for quarry operations with assistance systems
The Liebherr L 580 XPower is one of the Group’s largest and most powerful wheel loaders and can be seen both at the exhibition stand and in the live demonstrations. The standard XPower drive system automatically and continuously combines hydrostatic and mechanical drive technology in a single machine. This ensures maximum performance and efficiency, both during short loading cycles and over long travel distances.
Liebherr’s integrated assistance systems help to enhance safety and productivity in quarry operations. The live show will feature an L 580 XPower wheel loader fitted with tyre protection chains, a rock bucket and a range of driver assistance systems. The demonstration machine and the exhibit at the stand also have the Liebherr weighing system with Truck Payload Assist, which ensures optimum bucket filling.
Generation 8 crawler dozers with assistance systems for the most demanding requirements
During the live demonstrations, visitors can see the Liebherr PR 756 G8 Litronic in action, with its precise and comfortable control system provided by the electronically controlled Liebherr hydrostatic travel drive. The 40-tonne crawler dozer combines high pushing power with maximum productivity for demanding earthmoving and material handling applications.
Integrated assistance systems such as the Liebherr Operator Assistance System (OAS) help to ensure safe machine operation. Functions such as Free Grade, Definition Grade and 3D Grade facilitate precise fine-grading and the creation of 2D and 3D terrain models.
Liebherr is showcasing the PR 726 G8 Litronic at its exhibition stand. The smaller of the two crawler dozers impresses with its excellent grading performance and high level of operator comfort. Thanks to its standard assistance systems and increased blade capacity, the Liebherr PR 726 G8 is suitable both for millimetre-perfect precision grading and for applications requiring maximum pushing power.
R 9150 E: Tried-and-tested excavator model redesigned for electrification to achieve local zero emissions at the worksite
Liebherr’s 130-tonne R 9150 E electric excavator is based on the tried-and-tested R 9150 model and combines excellent power distribution with the advantages of an electric drive system. The excavator’s optimised equipment ensures high digging and lifting forces, enabling the bucket to be filled to maximum capacity during every work cycle.
In addition, the grid-connected electric drive of the R 9150 E reduces local greenhouse gas emissions during operation – provided the electricity comes from renewable energy sources – whilst also lowering the noise level in the cab. As the electric drive system has fewer components than its diesel-powered counterpart, maintenance requirements are lower. This increases the availability of the R 9150 E and allows longer periods of operation.
Energy storage for electrified mining operations
With the Liduro Power Port 600 (LPO 600), Liebherr is introducing a mobile energy storage system – suitable even for highly energy-intensive equipment – for the electrification of construction sites, quarries and mining operations. The battery-based storage system has a capacity of 564 kWh, reliably supplies hybrid and fully electric machines with power, and enables power supply and fast charging for mobile and stationary equipment, even at locations with an inadequate grid supply.
The combination of AC and DC connections, integrated fast-charging technology and high mobility provides maximum flexibility for a wide range of applications. Thanks to its compact design, in the format of a 10-foot container, the LPO 600 is easy to transport and can be set up and moved directly at the site of operation.
The Technology Pavilion focuses on drive technologies, service and digitalisation
In addition to the exhibits on display and the machinery featured in the daily demonstrations, the Liebherr Group will present its latest technological innovations and practical solutions for the construction, quarrying and mining sectors. The Technology Pavilion showcases a range of drive technologies – from the traditional internal combustion engine running on alternative fuels such as HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) through to hydrogen-based and electric drive systems. With intelligent assistance systems and operating concepts, digital services and fleet management solutions, the company also presents pioneering solutions for earthmoving and mining machinery.
Another highlight in the pavilion is the remanufacturing programme (Reman): Liebherr demonstrates how components from two engines are remanufactured into a single component that is as good as new.
