Terras Spezialtiefbau GmbH is a rapidly growing group, which received the keys to three new machines from Liebherr at Bauma. With the two LB 30 drilling rigs and the LRB 23 combined piling and drilling rig, the company is focusing particularly on efficiency and precision, which is of exceptional importance in the deep foundation industry.
Terras Spezialtiefbau GmbH is a rapidly growing group and a central element of the dynamically expanding Terras Tiefbau Gruppe, which currently has around 20 subsidiaries. Through its innovative strength, efficiency and comprehensive expertise, the group contributes significantly to the sustainable strengthening of medium-sized companies and sets new standards in the deep foundation industry.
Terras Spezialtiefbau GmbH currently comprises the companies Demler Spezialtiefbau GmbH, D & K Spezialtiefbau GmbH & Co KG and Wend Grundbau GmbH. Two of the new machines, the LRB 23 and an LB 30, are being used by D & K for the first time on a jobsite in southern Germany for double rotary drilling and Kelly drilling applications. Demler will use the second LB 30 to install piles throughout Germany using the Kelly drilling method.
Ansgar Langemeyer, Managing Director of Terras Spezialtiefbau GmbH, expressed his thanks at Bauma for the ceremonial handover of the keys to the new machines. “We are proud to be working with such a renowned company and look forward to further exciting and successful projects. The new machines will help us to realise our construction projects even more efficiently and with the highest quality.” The Managing Director also emphasised that the decision was once again made in favour of Liebherr, particularly due to the outstanding quality, reliability and performance of the products. Demler and D & K opted for the first Liebherr machines back in 2018 and 2019 respectively. “With Liebherr, we have a strong partner at our side,” says Ansgar Langemeyer.

LRB 19 from Liebherr installs sheet pile walls for short project

The piling and drilling rig really comes into its own, particularly on jobsites where the projects are of short duration. In Clenze, Lower Saxony (Germany), the company fitted the LRB 19 with the LV 23 vibrator to drive sheet piles – a solution which, thanks to their perfect harmonisation, enables maximum efficiency.

Through the basalt with ‘Mjölnir’ – Viking machine drilling in Mexico
Whilst on a trip to Europe, Olga Sánchez, the director of the Mexican company Grupo Olsa, discovered the Viking culture. Their impressive power inspired her to use an equally powerful drilling rig for deep foundation work on the AIFA-Pachuca railway project in her home country. This gave rise to the idea of the ‘Mjölnir’ Viking machine, which took shape with the Liebherr LB 25.

HS 8300.1 as good as new with over 20,000 hrs on the clock
Liebherr USA, Co. in Houston, Texas has carried out a complete overhaul on a high performance duty cycle machine for Matthews Brothers Dredging, LLC. Following a detailed planning phase and intensive work at the Liebherr site, the HS 8300.1 returned to the barge as good as new – and with a number of upgrades into the bargain.
