Today the first sod for the new Liebherr sales and service centre was turned on an area of 44,000 m² in Kuhwerder Hafen (port). Liebherr is building a new facility for the existing sales and service company in Harburg on the centrally located area. The new office will be responsible for the support and maintenance of mobile harbour cranes, ship cranes, offshore cranes, as well as construction machines from the product areas of duty cycle crawler cranes, crawler cranes and deep foundation equipment. The new location also serves as a hub for rental and return equipment. Spare part repairs is another function.

"We are investing in a location that offers potential for growth over the long term. Owing to its logistic conditions, Hamburg port is our central hub for rental and return equipment as well as for all types of repairs from the European area", states Jörg Schmidt, Managing Director of Liebherr-MCCtec Vertriebs- und Service GmbH.

A workshop (2160 m²), a warehouse (1080 m²), as well as offices (3750 m²), will be built on the new area. The construction measures will be completed by the second quarter of 2019.
