With the Liebherr World Table Tennis Championships 2017 in Düsseldorf just around the corner (29 May to 5 June), the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has presented its innovative event concept for the championship matches. Alongside the compelling TV broadcasts and numerous special effects, which are sure to produce an electrifying atmosphere on the Center Court, the new Liebherr Live presentation format will be a key element of the entertainment.

After every matchday, experts will review the events of the previous hours in 20 to 30-minute live shows. The focus will be on expert analysis of the outstanding moments of the day. Interviews with current players and brief discussion rounds will further enrich the program and provide additional insights above and beyond the actual gameplay.

The special feature of Liebherr Live is that any table tennis fan anywhere in the world with Internet access will be able to watch the action. That's because the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) will be broadcasting Liebherr Live on its own Facebook page and streaming platforms, among other channels.

Andreas Böhm, Member of the Board of Directors of Liebherr-International AG, commented on the Group's involvement as naming sponsor of the new format: "Liebherr has been a partner of the ITTF for a long time and has seen how its events and products have continued to grow over the years. We are very happy that the ITTF is continuing to break new ground in its efforts to develop the sport of table tennis further, which includes taking advantage of social and digital media. We are therefore delighted with the Liebherr Live program, which will give table tennis fans even more behind-the-scenes access to the world's largest table tennis event".
