Electronic Data Interchange (EDI):
Exchange of business documents by electronic means

The Liebherr Group pursues the aim of processing important business transactions with suppliers according to the industrial standard regarding the exchange of business documents by electronic means, otherwise known as "Electronic Data Interchange" (EDI). In doing so, a distinction is made between the classic OFTP protocol-based EDI and an internet market place-based WEB-EDI.

Technically, all Liebherr sites with production facilities have the means of sending EDI messages for the procurement process as well as editing received EDI messages where agreed.

The EDI concept of the Liebherr Group is based on the internationally-recognized messaging standard "Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce and Transport" (EDIFACT) and "Verband der Automobilindustrie (German Association of the Automotive Industry)" (VDA). Messages with business partners are only exchanged in these formats.

For business partners who do not have their own EDI system, there is an option of receiving and sending messages via WebEDI. The technical prerequisite for this is simply an internet connection.

The advantages to business partners of the Liebherr Group are as follows:

  • No investment costs / free to use
  • Automatic email notification when new messages are received
  • One single login procedure for business processes of the Liebherr Group
  • Standardized handling routines for all companies of the Group
  • Documents are downloaded in CSV format for automated further processing

WebEDI login

To exchange data via EDI and WebEDI, it is first necessary to complete our EDI self-disclosure and sign our EDI contract. The EDI self-disclosure is available for download below. Please fill out this form and send it to your contact person in Liebherr's purchasing department.

You will also receive the EDI contract from your Liebherr purchasing contact.
