News | 04/12/2016 Liebherr sells ten tower cranes to Greece

The contract was signed and the ink had dried shortly before the start of the trade fair: Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH will supply a total of ten tower cranes to Greece by mid-2016. "The order gives us considerable momentum for Bauma and is further motivation", states Rüdiger Boeck, responsible Area Sales Manager. The tower cranes – including six 200 EC-H 10 Litronic, as well as a 630 EC-H 40 Litronic, a 202 EC-B 10 Litronic, a 250 EC-B 12 Litronic and a 280 EC-H 12 Litronic in the special design for cooling tower construction – are being used by the construction company Terna S.A. for the construction of a power plant in Ptolemais, Greece. The planned construction period is roughly five to six years.

An important factor for the successful conclusion of the contract was the support provided by Tower Crane Solutions in particular. In the end the Liebherr department together with the sales team offered the optimal solution for the project. Various cranes had to be adapted to the very specific customer requirements. Tougher safety requirements also apply to the use of tower cranes on the large construction site.

"We are delighted with the confidence placed in us. Terna S.A. can also count on us to provide further support and assistance during the project", states Rüdiger Boeck and adds: "Now we are looking forward to continuing our success at Bauma 2016."
