Press releases | 12/17/2015 Liebherr to Retrofit HVAC Units of TAM’s Citadis 401 Trams

Liebherr-Transportation Systems has been awarded two contracts by French operator TaM 3M « Transports de Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole ». These include new controllers and spare parts for the overhaul of the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) units on board TAM’s Citadis 401 trams.

The first contract covers the development and manufacture of new generation controllers for 95 HVAC units installed in the passenger compartments and 65 HVAC units in the driver cabins of 30 Citadis 401 trains. Moreover, TaM 3M (Transports de Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole), which is based in Montpellier, commissioned Liebherr-Transportation Systems to supply the relevant spares parts to ensure the overhaul of the HVAC units.

The first prototype equipment has been recently delivered to TAM. TAM, which was the first company to operate ALSTOM Citadis 401-type trams, runs the trains to be overhauled in the city of Montpellier.
