Press releases | 12/21/2015 Liebherr Supplies Air Conditioning Units and Heating Systems to Hamburger Hochbahn AG

Liebherr-Transportation Systems recently signed a contract with Bombardier Transportation to manufacture air conditioning units and heating systems for another 33 underground trains of the type DT5. The trains will be operated by Hamburger Hochbahn AG in Hamburg, Germany.

Each train will be equipped with three air conditioning units for the passenger compartment and two for the driver’s cabin. The heating systems, which use the waste heat from traction, are designed for the passenger compartment. All the units should be delivered by July 2017.

The DT5 underground train was specifically developed for the requirements of Hamburger Hochbahn AG. It is the first train in the operator’s fleet that has air-conditioned passenger compartments for improved comfort.
