Press releases | 02/17/2016 Liebherr Wins Contract for Air Conditioning Equipment for Stuttgart’s S-Bahn

Liebherr-Transportation Systems will deliver air conditioning systems for ten Bombardier ET 430 series trains for the S-Bahn in Stuttgart (Germany).

Liebherr-Transportation Systems was recently selected by Bombardier Transportation to supply air conditioning systems for ten ET 430 series S-Bahn trains. Bombardier ordered a total of 40 air conditioning units for the passenger compartments and 20 units for the driver cabins in the trains which will be operated by DB Regio AG in Stuttgart (Germany). The deliveries are expected to take place from the beginning to the middle of 2016. The air conditioning units for the passenger compartments are particularly energy-efficient, as they use the waste heat from traction.

The ET 430 series is the evolution of the ET 422 fleet, and is used as a four-part electric multiple unit by Deutsche Bahn on its S-Bahn network in various metropolitan areas. Since 1999, more than 600 ET 422, 423 and 430 series trains have been equipped with Liebherr air conditioning systems.
