On stand # 1749, which is part of the German Pavilion in Hall B, Liebherr will be presenting examples of systems and components and showing visitors its strong innovative capacity in the areas of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC systems), hydraulic actuation systems as well as hydraulic load levelling equipment for rail vehicles of all kinds.

A premiere in the USA at the Liebherr-Transportation Systems exhibition stand

At APTA, Liebherr-Transportation Systems will be presenting its latest product for the first time in the USA: a completely new approach to the standardization of air conditioning systems for metros, trams and suburban railways: the MACS 8.0 Modular Air Conditioning System. The design appeals not only because of its very low installation height and minimized weight – it also makes the HVAC system extremely flexible and guarantees a hitherto unknown availability of the air conditioning system in service. It is characterized by its energy saving function and long working life.

Further highlights being presented by Liebherr-Transportation Systems at APTA include a moving electro-hydraulic actuator, which is used for the active lateral suspension of rail vehicles in order to reduce wear on the wheel/rail interface, whilst also improving travel comfort for the passengers. The extremely compact design includes a complete hydraulic system and has the electronics fully integrated inside the actuator.

In addition, VR glasses as well as animated videos will provide visitors information and fascinating insights into how the HVAC systems and hydraulic actuation systems developed, manufactured and serviced by Liebherr-Transportation Systems function on board a train.

“APTA Expo is an excellent platform and opportunity for us to demonstrate the commitment to our customers and partners in North America as well as worldwide and to show them our state-of-the-art and innovative products”, explains Nicolas Bonleux, Managing Director and Chief Sales Officer, Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS.
