Liebherr-Transportation Systems has won a contract from Bombardier Transportation Derby Litchurch Lane Works (UK) to overhaul heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) for electric multiple-units trains Electrostar Class 379 operated by Greater Anglia.

The activities already commenced with a pilot in September 2018 and a serial overhaul program is planned from December 2018 onwards. The works will be carried out at Liebherr’s service center in Gatwick London (UK) which specializes in HVAC system maintenance. The Class 379 HVAC systems were built by Liebherr, but equipment built by other manufacturers can also be serviced at the Gatwick facility.

With this project, Liebherr has proven once more that the company is a reliable partner for the railway industry with extensive experience in the field of supply, maintenance and overhaul of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
