Zhejiang Liebherr Zhongche Transportation Systems Co., Ltd. will supply 21 anti-buckling systems to CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. (China) for low-floor trams which will be operated in the city of Wuhan (Province of Hubei). The order underlines Liebherr’s leading position in the field of hydraulic actuation for rail vehicles.

The hydraulic anti-buckling system assures that the specified clearance profile of these trams is kept under any operating conditions. As this function is classified as being safety-critical, the system is also monitored by means of a standard electronic controller BK3 integrated by Liebherr. The anti-buckling system substantially improves ride comfort and reduces wear on the wheels as the position of the bogies is simultaneously controlled by a common hydraulic system.

Zhejiang Liebherr Zhongche Transportation Systems Co., Ltd., located in Zhuji (China) is a joint venture of Guangzhou Zhongche Railway Vehicles Equipment Joint-Stock Co. Ltd. It was founded in 2006 in order to design and manufacture air conditioning and hydraulic suspension systems for rail applications.
