Intelligent control systems for crawler crane operation
The crawler crane is equipped with the latest generation of CANBUS-based control system software. This inhouse development from Liebherr is designed for tough construction site conditions, even under extreme temperatures. The respective crane configuration can be preselected with ease on the touchscreen in the cab.
Numerous control functions for the crane operator
The display for control of the crane is clearly laid out. This means that the operator is provided with better orientation and thereby greater user-friendliness. Monitoring and display of all sensors is likewise controlled by the electronics. Error messages are shown to the operator directly on the screen.
Overload protection for maximum capacity utilisation
The load torque limiter (LMB), which is installed as standard, automatically calculates the loads during operation and, in this way, ensures optimum utilisation of the equipment. As the only system on the market, this concept works without storing load charts or interpolating intermediate values. This is important mainly on smaller crawler cranes as these are used with a high degree of flexibility and the configuration is ever-changing. The benefit to the user is even better exploitation of the equipment including construction site conditions with atypical reaches or crane positions.
Clever control functions
For different deployment scenarios, Liebherr has developed a series of intelligent control options.
“Vertical Line Finder” for maximum safety
This optional control aid indicates the exact vertical cable position on the display before the load is lifted. This prevents swinging of the load, minimises the risk of damage and contributes towards safety on the construction site.
Precise load transport
The horizontal load path option ensures safe and precise lifting of the load on the same (horizontal) plane. This function can be switched on or off by the crane operator as required.
All operating data of the equipment as well as warnings or possible error messages are shown to the operator on a colour display with rich contrast. The respective crane configuration can be selected with ease on the touchscreen.
