Visitors to the Liebherr RoadShow 2018 could also find out about the components of construction machines. These include Liebherr diesel engines, Liebherr particle filters, Liebherr oil and lubricants, GPS and laser controls or even LiDAT, Liebherr´s data transmission and positioning system for construction machines. In addition, Liebherr was showing the extensive range of services offered by the Liebherr rental partners and the attractive range of used equipment from the manufacturer. Apart from other attractions, visitors were offered insights into apprentice and skilled worker training at Liebherr.
For the first time, the Liebherr RoadShow 2018 offered its visitors a program of interesting lectures with regional focuses. A combination of specialist lectures by trade associations, Liebherr lectures and lectures by cooperation partners on current topics, completed the program.
As part of the Liebherr RoadShow, Mercedes-Benz was presenting its comprehensive product range for constructional use with the Arocs, Atego, Unimog and FUSO Canter series. Mercedes-Benz showed all forms of propulsion from 4x2 to 8x8, a wide variety of superstructures from semitrailer trucks with dump semi-trailers over dump trucks to deposit tipper and all cab variants. Highlights included the shiftable drive system "Hydraulic Auxiliary Drive" – HAD in short – which adds extra traction to the front axle of the Arocs and the Mercedes-Benz Turbo Retarder Clutch: the innovative system with a fill-controlled, hydrodynamic clutch combines the functions "wear-free drive-off" and "wear-free braking and maneuvering" in one element. All truck series and systems could be taken for test runs. Mercedes-Benz presence was enhanced by the transporter range – the new X-Class could be experienced in its natural environment.
Visitors of the Liebherr RoadShow 2018 could test GPS and Laser Grade Control Systems as well as LOADRITE excavator scales from Trimble in conjunction with Liebherr construction machinery. With the brandnew Trimble Earthworks Grade Control System shown on a Liebherr excavator, Trimble presented a whole new generation of machine controls, complemented by the proven GCS900 on crawler and wheel loader.
