The awards are run by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognise excellence in two areas: businesses that grow their own talent with apprentices and apprentices who have made a significant contribution to their workplaces.
After winning the BAE Systems Central Eastern Region Large Employer of the Year Award, Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd. was then judged to be a finalist as the BAE Systems Large Employer at national level, going head to head with MBDA Systems and WEC Group.

Lee Mason, Apprentice Programme Generalist at Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd., said “This is a fantastic accolade to receive in recognition for the hard work and effort of the apprentices. Having achieved this award is superb and we aim to continue developing our staff and growing the business through apprenticeships, not just for new talent pipelines but for existing staff too!”

The awards ceremony, held at The Skills Show in Birmingham on 13 November also saw Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd. revealed as one of the top apprentice employers in the country. The prestigious Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list, which is compiled annually by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with City & Guilds, recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices.
