Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, Lindenberg (Germany) has hosted the Clean Sky 2 Integrated Technology Demonstration (ITD) Systems Launch Review held on November 19 and 20, 2015, in Weiler (Germany).
Technical representatives of more than 30 companies and research institutes together with technical independent experts mandated by the European Commission and the Clean Sky Joint Undertaking (www.cleansky.eu) had come together in order to set the course for long term activities related to the major system demonstrators. The leaders of Clean Sky 2 presented detailed planning of activities including the involvement of additional members and future members or external contributors.
The reviewers evaluated the coherence of each project with the global framework and the expected contributions to the High Level Objectives of Clean Sky 2. The main objective is to ensure a solid collaborative program and a consequent involvement of all partners. As one of the coordinators of the ITD, Liebherr-Aerospace will interface with the European funding authorities and represent the industry consortium within the program.
Thanks to major technology innovations, Liebherr-Aerospace and the whole consortium are reducing the environmental impact of future aircraft generations in terms of both noise and emissions, and increase at the same time the competitiveness of the European supply chain.
