Press releases | 04/25/2016 Zimmermann expands crane fleet with Liebherr LTM 1100-4.2 – VarioBase® and remote control deliver enhanced safety and comfort

  • Zimmermann Autokrane exclusively uses mobile cranes from Liebherr and is expanding its fleet with a new LTM 1100-4.2
  • Zimmermann already has a tried and trusted LTM 1100-4.2 in its fleet
  • VarioBase® and the remote control are features which deliver even greater safety and efficiency from the Liebherr crane

"All the cranes in our fleet are from Liebherr – and we are very satisfied", reads the statement from Zimmermann Autokrane. The company has now expanded its fleet with a Liebherr LTM 1100-4.2 mobile crane. Zimmermann already has a machine of this type in its fleet which has proved both successful and reliable. The Liebherr VarioBase® innovation and the remote control mean that the new LTM 1100-4.2 can be used with even greater safety and economy.

Managing Director Stefan Zimmermann is highly satisfied with his Liebherr LTM 1100-4.2 mobile crane. The company already has a crane of this model in its fleet which is in demand for a large number of jobs. Stefan Zimmermann believes there are several factors behind the popularity of the crane: "The 4-axle crane is flexible in use in the load capacity classes from 60 to 100 tonnes. With maximum ballast it delivers extremely good load capacity values with its 60-metre boom. It is also very easy and straightforward to operate." Zimmermann has also invested in a remote control. This can control all the movements by the LTM 1100-4.2 easily and safely from outside the cabin, providing the driver with a clear view of the load.

Zimmermann's new LTM 1100-4.2 also features the VarioBase® variable support base. VarioBase® delivers maximum safety particularly in constricted site situations where the supports cannot be extended fully. This peerless system also enables the LTM 1100-4.2 to achieve significantly higher load capacity values with fully extended outriggers. The main areas of use for the LTM 1100-4.2 will be the erection of lattice boom and assembly of prefabricated components.

Zimmermann exclusively uses Liebherr mobile cranes. "We are highly satisfied with the service and the quality of the machines. They also retain their value well and have a high resale value", explains Stefan Zimmermann. The company's fleet includes 13 Liebherr mobile cranes with capacities of up to 250 tonnes. In addition to mobile crane rental, the company also offers heavy and special transport services as well as crane planning services. The company can also provide its customers with over eighty work platforms and forklift trucks. The company's services are rounded off by operator training courses which comply with BGR 500 and BGG 966 regulations.
