Liebherr-Components presents its powerful and high-quality system solutions at SPS IPC Drives 2015 in Nuremberg for the first time, along with individual components from the areas of drive, control and regulation technology and also mobile electronics.

Among these is a system solution for mobile machinery consisting of a compact control unit, digital camera and display. The freely programmable compact control unit ensures customer-specific safety functions up to performance level “d”. The very robust thermo-design housing satisfies the high requirements of protection class IP6K9K. Customers obtain a perfectly coordinated system in combination with the easy-to-integrate camera and the multi-touch display with direct sunlight viewing.

A highlight is the new frequency converter system. It is extremely flexible thanks to individual configuration with power modules. From the switchgear area, Liebherr demonstrates a crane application which makes efficient use of space and satisfies high safety requirements. The control systems comply with safety standards and are planned and realised in accordance with EN 13849.

Liebherr showcases compact air-cooled asynchronous squirrel cage motors and liquid-cooled permanent magnet machines. The performance of the motors ranges from 4kW to 2,000kW. The performance of the alternators extends to 3,500kW. The motors were primarily designed for use in variable-speed drives with frequency converters and for high dynamic applications. The electric machines from Liebherr are employed in mining equipment, construction machines and maritime applications, among others.

Furthermore, Liebherr shows a complete electrice drive system with two power modules, an active front-end unit and an engine drive unit, are featured in combination with a 500kW electric motor.
