Study, gain work experience and earn your own money
Liebherr offers you such a course of study in cooperation with the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, the Maintal European Academy of Studies in Hesse, the Ulm University of Applied Sciences, the Kempten University of Applied Sciences or the Dornbirn University of Applied Sciences in Austria. You can choose from a wide range of subjects and at the same time benefit from a good working atmosphere and high chances of being taken on after your studies. In addition, you will receive financial support from the company.
Together with the university of co-operative education, Liebherr offers you the opportunity to complete a practice-based, business management course at five locations in Baden-Württemberg. Upon completion, successful graduates (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science) take on qualified tasks with responsibility relating to business management in the company.
The combined vocational and educational scheme takes a total of three years to complete at Liebherr and students graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). Theory elements at university that alternate with practical elements in the company prepare you optimally for a broad spectrum of interesting engineering tasks.
The joint vocational and educational scheme in Ulm (Ulm model) or in Kempten (combined) is a mixture of occupational training with academic study. The advantage here is that you acquire a trade training certificate and also graduate as a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.). The course with various branches of study alternates between university, trade training college and the company and is supported by Liebherr financially.
Routes to an international career
"While choosing my course of study, the international aspect was very important to me as I have always enjoyed languages. This means that my course at DHBW with Liebherr is optimal. As the Group operates on an international level, there are surely good opportunities for work – perhaps even abroad." Kathrin Maucher, DHBW student, International Business, Liebherr-Ochsenhausen GmbH
A fascination of technology
"I was sure that I wanted to study something to do with engineering and I have been interested in aviation and aerospace for a long time. On my combined vocational and educational course at DHBW with Liebherr, I get a really good idea of how aeronautical components are developed." Eva-Maria Weihprachtitzky, DHBW student, aviation and aerospace technology, Liebherr-Elektronik GmbH
Theory meets practice
"The Ulm model interlinked with occupational training is really great. I am able to put the theory straight into practice and, conversely, understand certain elements of the course better thanks to an insight into the company." Maximilian Stefan Knyrim, student of the Ulm model, mechanical engineering, Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH
Study in Germany or overseas
"To improve my English language skills and to gain practical work experience, completing part of my course abroad was very important to me. In three months at Liebherr-Aerospace Saline, Inc. (USA), I gained a very good insight in the company and the way Americans approach their work." Yvonne Gretzinger, mechanical engineering student, Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH in co-operation with Liebherr-Aerospace Saline, Inc. / USA
Combining academic study with occupational training
"After completing my Abitur (German baccalaureate), I didn't want to just study. Instead, I opted for the combined vocational and educational course in Kempten. In this way, I learn the basics of engineering at Liebherr and am thus able to relate much better to the theoretical content of the course." Josef Hörburger, combined vocational and educational course at Kempten University, electrotechnology and information technology, Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH
