The contract was signed in September 2016 between Liebherr-Singapore (Aerospace Division) and the Taiwanese airline.

With a projected start in November 2016, Liebherr-Aerospace will support the landing gear overhaul program of all six Mandarin Airlines E-Jet190 aircraft and carry out all overhaul activities on the main and nose landing gear system at its facility in Lindenberg (Germany).

The complete landing gear systems for the E-Jet family E170, E175, E190 and E195 were developed and manufactured by the OEM Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, center of excellence for landing gear and flight control systems within Liebherr-Aerospace’s global network.

Mandarin Airlines is an airline based in Taipei and has been awarded with the IOSA Certificate. The Taiwanese carrier provides domestic and international passenger and cargo service to 31 destinations in East and Southeast Asia, while its parent company China Airlines provides services to the medium and long range international and intercontinental destinations. Charter services are also operated by the company.

Mandarin Airlines, the launch operator of the E-Jet 190 in the Asia region, has been operating its E-Jet 190 fleet since 2007. Mandarin Airlines has built up a close relationship with Liebherr-Aerospace in the very beginning of the E-Jet 190 operation. “The consideration of Liebherr’s satisfactory service and with the trust and confidence in Liebherr as well as looking to start a long term partnership, Mandarin Airlines decided to choose Liebherr as their exclusive service provider for the E-Jet 190 landing gear overhaul”, commented Dennis Lai, Senior VP Maintenance & Engineering at Mandarin Airlines.
